With the British Science Festival travelling all the way up to Aberdeen this year, there may be a few who are not going to be able to make it. Which means you may miss out on some of the most eagerly awaited events on the science festival calendar. DON’T PANIC.
Instead, GET EXCITED! This year the Science in Society team is going with them to bring you The Xchange – the daily show bringing you all of the cream of the scientific crop presenting at the Festival. The Xchange presents the ‘Best of the Fest’ with a mouth-watering line-up of the most interesting and controversial speakers, hosted by Richard Hollingham, within an informal setting at lunchtime on each Festival day. You’ll find the show at the Spiegeltent on the University of Aberdeen campus every weekday of the Festival at 13.30, and also on the Saturday, at the slightly earlier time of 12.00.
What’s more, the shows will be recorded live and published as daily podcasts so that you can catch up on all the action before the day is out. Our dedicated team of volunteers will be writing daily blogs, taking photos and videoing some of the action as well, giving you an all-round experience; it will be as if you were really there.
To get a taste of what is yet to come, have a look and listen to last year’s podcasts on our website. You will also find more information about the actual event, and a bit of Xchange history. Come and say hello as we introduce this year’s team of fabulous volunteers!
